Extrema Ratio

A remake of a classic, a tribute to a veteran, the redesign of one of the most widely distributed and used ù war knives during World War II: the MARK 2. Produced by the oldest companies from the United States, in countless variations, but always faithful to the original specifications of the U.S. NAVY contract in general form, this dagger remains the favorite of nostalgic and traditionalists who rely only on tools "battle tested". Manufacturers have often tried to modernize this dagger with encouraging results, not so much so that the traditional model still occupies a prominent position in the main catalogs. Extrema Ratio engages in this ambitious project with the aim of maintaining the unique characteristics of the original to make only functional changes aimed at increasing performance. Stainless Steel AISI 303 for the cobalt blade and AISI 304 for other components, glass reinforced Nylon handle has taken the place of the leather. The ergonomics of the original è been retained but all the structural parts were massive and powerful oversized as a knife. Conceptually, the changes are aimed at catering to traditional ù pi "weaknesses" of the original model: the option à to field disassembly without tools, the tip with Bowie profile edited straight (pi ù easy to regrind) and channels on the handle "barrel", which help to perceive the dark blade direction and increase geometrically the seal in the twisting movements (screwdriver). Other small changes are the holes for the safety rope (of which the original was lacking) and the holes on guard enhance tie the dagger to a stick to use as a spear from survival. The traditional blood Groove è was "cowardly" replaced with the typical "side groove" Extrema Ratio for reasons that we confess to be purely cosmetic: we like cos ì … the rest, actually, it was fine as it was ì … and so we left. The scabbard, with automatic engagement of the knife, è MOLLE System compatible.
